As of last week, Jefferson Parish Finance Authority has paused there program to catch up on their back log of applicants. As of now they are number 56 of the interview process. They are expecting about 200 grants to be provided. They have closed on several other applicants already. The reason for freezing the acceptance of applications was due to a backlog and not wanting to hold sellers up under contract for over 2 months.
There is no timetable as to when they will re release the program. I think this is great news for those who have not found a home yet or have not taken the 1st time home buyer classes. This gives you an opportunity to get started.
